Here is an update from the Peace-Indo Project.

Since 2020, we have been supporting the "Peace India Project" of certified NPO ACE. They have been working since 2010 to eradicate child labor in cotton cultivation in India, and with certain results achieved, we received an announcement about a new initiative on June 12, "World Day Against Child Labor." I would like to report on some excerpts from the announcement.

--

“Through this project, approximately 950 children of compulsory school age (6-14 years old) have been released from labor and are now attending regular schools, and over 3,500 children have gained access to education. Furthermore, around 325 girls who have passed compulsory school age have been freed from hazardous labor, received basic education, and are now earning income in safe jobs.”

The project activities in the region up to now will be taken over by the local organization that has been working with them from the beginning.

“The new project will also be active in the state of Telangana, India, and aims to expand the formation and networking of the resident volunteer group 'Children's Rights Protection Forum,' which we found effective in our previous activities, to a wider area within the state. Our goal is to protect more children from child labor and create a situation where 'children's rights' are fulfilled.”

We hope that through the diligent efforts of NPO ACE to provide opportunities for children and their parents to receive education, and by us as sellers offering products with a conscious awareness of traceability in material selection, the future of more children will be brighter.

A portion of the sales from LOTTADESIGN.'s original custom shoes is donated as a form of support. We sincerely thank everyone who has placed an order. We will continue this initiative and ask for your ongoing cooperation.
